Reunions Part Tsvei

This one took the five of us south to St. Augustine. We had planned an all-girls trip with Vickie, my China travel-mate, but her mom had a heart attack which changed a lot of things for her. This reunion was for China families from two SWIs, including Sophie's, but coincidentally one of them has a daughter from Ava's SWI as well. Her mom, Debby, and I met when our girls were on the same Special Need list. We hoped to travel to China together, but it wasn't meant to be. Anyway, it's been over two years, and it was GREAT to finally meet in person. The girls definitely have a similar "look," especially when you see them together.
Shangrao Sisters, Ava & Jami

Slumber Party!
They kept coming out and saying they needed more popcorn!

"Sistahs"

There were more Zhanjiang-ers, but everyone kinda trickled in & out. By the time we got around to pictures, these were the only five we could corral.

Sophie and T

We went to the Old City one day, and toured the Castillo de San Marcos. It was impressive. And oppressive--the humidity just killed us. We did a self-guided, Cliff Notes tour and called it a day and headed back to the water again. We thought about those poor soldiers who had lived in the fort on the untamed Florida coastline, baking in their wool uniforms and heavy weapons. And no air-conditioned Hampton Inn or Rita's in sight.

We also got to visit David & Shelley! We traveled with them in 2004 for Sophie and Aly, and it was such fun to meet Lili for the first time, and they, Ava. I will post pics when I get them from Shelley. Left my camera in the hotel when we went to their place. :o( I know...unforgivable.

It was a great trip, and we hope to do it all again!

Reunions Part Eins

It's been one after another. Trying to catch my breath AND catch up (and there's still one more next weekend)!

Here are some from the Hochstetler reunion in IN a couple of weeks ago. It was very special to have Grandpa & Grandma there--something we couldn't have expected when Grandpa was so low back in January. Praise the Lord for his continued health!

Grandpa and Wyatt

Aunt Anna and Uncle Andy, who passed away last week at the age of 90.

My cousin's little girl, J, helps her Aunt Karen clean up after the brunch buffet, which was brimming with some really incredible food, I might add.
