Donna's challenge this week is "Pajamas." I dug back through some we'd taken right after we brought Ava home. This is a ritual she was used to with her foster mother--to drink a hot cup of formula so she slept well. Before we brought her home, she was mainly on formula, and not many solids. We were told that because the summer was so hot, she didn't want to eat, but preferred to drink. Sophie quickly wanted in on the fun, and Ava would generously offer her sips. When Sophie would get finished, Ava took her dishtowel and dabbed at Sophie's mouth to wipe away the foam. BTW, the PJs were from one of my favorite Gymboree lines, "Paper Lanterns." I liked them so much that I got both a 12-18 mos. and an 18-24 mos. of the same outfit. Never once thinking I'd have TWO little girls to fill them at the same time. :o)Sadly, this is one more part of Ava's past that is slipping away. She is now eagerly eating (understatement) the food we do, so the extra nutrition isn't necessary anymore. We've replaced this bedtime ritual with others that she enjoys...it includes kisses all around. Two weeks ago she started kissing back. :o)
Donna and others have written about the sizes of their children. Ava (23mos.) and Sophie (33mos.) both weigh 24 lbs. Ava is three inches shorter though, at a height of 33". Ava is in size 5 shoes and 2-3T clothes, and Sophie in 7 shoes, and 3-4T clothes.

Val, I'm amazed, at Sophies stats, Kami was so much bigger than her and now is at 36" 30lbs, wearing sz 2T pants (short legs) and 3T tops, 6 shoes. She is still my Chuncky Monkey.

My goodness, Ava is tall!
We weighed our girls again last night and Maddy was 24 pounds and Gwen was 31. They're 29 and 30 months old, respectively.
It's amazing how different kids can be even when they're close in age.

I agree, Donna! My Eva and Val's Ava are "Shangrao sisters." My Eva is 32.5" tall now, and weighs 22.5 pounds - and she was 30 months old yesterday. She's grown some - but is still tiny - her clothes from China 9 months ago still fit her fine. She's in 12 month pants and 18 month shirts and dresses.

It's been "fun" reading the different blogs and sizes posted of our girls. People think Vivi is less than 2 years old until they hear her start talking!!! She may be small but she's "mighty"!!
I just found your site. I have added my tag re location, I'm the one in England. The music on your site is lovely and your daughters are beautiful.
I was just reading about the mennonite women and children cards, I guess I am too late for this year, do they do any that are blank that I could use as Birthday cards etc? I am always wanting to support good causes.
I have a very special connection to the mennonite community, being Canadian and my best friend is from a mennonite family.
I am really looking forward to reading your blog.
Hey girl. They get so big so fast. Anna is a big girl and I can hardly stand it. Too fast. I need another . . . :)
